Adapted Learnings from a Simon Sinek interview – The difference between Skill and Character:

Skill is useful when dealing with known issues. How to ride a bike, how to replace a flat tire, etc.

The greatness of the skill ascertains the speed and efficiency of how quickly a problem will be solved.

Character determines a persons response when dealing with unknowns. How to make better decisions during a pandemic, what kind of news do I share/pass on to my friends, etc.

Strength of Character establishes the kind of thoughts, actions and resolutions a Leader creates within a team when there are none that exist for that situation.

Let’s make sure we bring both skill and character to the table and encourage the growth of each, within our teams.
